Sandra Bullock and Jesse James will stay in touch for the sake of his children.
The 'Blind Side' star — who has now finalised her divorce from the motorcycle enthusiast, following revelations he cheated on her with a string of women — has reportedly vowed to keep in contact with her ex-husband for the sake of his children, Chandler (15), Jesse Jr. (12), and six-year-old Sunny, from previous relationships.
A source close to the actress told People magazine: "It's not like they're talking every day, but they're in touch about things. It really seems like it's about the kids more than anything."
The couple split in April after numerous affair claims emerged, including those of tattoo model Michelle 'Bombshell' McGee, who revealed she'd had an 11-month affair with Jesse.
While the pair began the process of adopting baby Louis when they were still together, the divorce papers specify that Sandra will now be the boy's sole parent, while Jesse will retain custody of the three children he entered the marriage with.
The Oscar-winning actress — who has bought a house in her new son's hometown of Louisiana to get out of the public eye — has been "chilling out" with Louis in Austin, Texas, since the divorce went through.
However, her ex-husband could soon become her neighbour, as he is reportedly thinking about purchasing a property in Austin.
The source explained: "He has a goal. He wants his life back, he wants some sense of normalcy and his family back."
